Private Cruise Shore Excursions in Hawaii — Small-Group (20 Guests)

How Aloha Group Travel ran private shore excursions for a ~20-guest group across a 7-day inter-island Hawaii sailing — a dedicated private vehicle and guide in every port, a custom itinerary per island, and every tour routed to return with margin before all-aboard — under one coordinator.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

A ~20-guest group wanted private touring in each Hawaii port instead of the cruise line’s shared shore excursions — different day-specific logistics in five ports, fixed all-aboard windows, private vehicles rather than shared buses, and transparent per-person pricing as the party size changed.

AGT assigned a private vehicle and guide to the group in every port, built a custom itinerary for each island stop, met the group at the pier with no ship-excursion queue, and routed and paced every tour to return with margin before all-aboard — all under one coordinator for the entire sailing.

THE OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

Private touring across a multi-port sailing is a different problem than a single land program. Four things had to be handled.

1.

Different Logistics Every Port

Each of the five ports had its own day-specific routing, drive times, and sights.

2.

Fixed All-Aboard Windows

Every port had a hard ship-departure time; tours had to return with margin before all-aboard.

3.

Private, Not Shared

The group wanted a dedicated vehicle and guide, not a shared cruise-line excursion bus.

4.

Transparent Pricing by Party Size

Per-person pricing had to be clear as the party size changed, with a shared-versus-private option.

PLANNING & PREPARATION

AGT planned each port as its own day — routing, drive times, and sight selection — inside the ship’s all-aboard window, with the same private vehicle-and-guide model repeated in every port.

Pricing was presented per person at several party sizes with a clear shared-versus-private choice, so the group could size the program before sailing, and every tour was paced to return with margin.

Port-by-Port Routing

Each port mapped as its own day inside the all-aboard window.

Private Vehicle & Guide

A dedicated vehicle and guide assigned in every port.

Custom Per-Port Itinerary

Sights selected for each island stop, not a fixed template.

Clear Pricing Options

Per-person pricing at several party sizes with a shared-vs-private choice.

EXECUTION — THE AGT SOLUTION

On the ground, AGT met the group at the pier in each port — no ship-excursion queue — with a dedicated private vehicle and guide, and ran a custom itinerary for that island.

Pearl Harbor and Oahu signature sights, Iao Valley and Lahaina-area touring on Maui, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park from Hilo, coffee-country and coastal touring from Kona, and Waimea Canyon or the Wailua River area on Kauai — every tour routed to return with margin before all-aboard. AGT runs cruise group programs across the whole sailing under one coordinator.

LESSONS LEARNED

Private shore touring wins on timing — route every port to return with margin before all-aboard.

A dedicated vehicle and guide per port beats a shared cruise-line bus for pace and flexibility.

Present per-person pricing at several party sizes so the group can size the program before sailing.

One coordinator across the whole sailing keeps five port days consistent.
